we stumbled into the spot after dipping out of a super expensive place closer to the d'orsay. i'm so glad we did. it was crammed and cozy. best cappuccino i had the whole trip and the croque madame was to dieeee forrrrrr. next time i come to paris i am making a special trip to this delicious fire hazard of a restaurant. tres bon.

We had a nice lunch here today and it was our first real lunch with the local residents. We were the only patrons who spoke English, and our waiter was kind enough to translate the menu for us.
I had a legume soup that was served with sides of croutons, cheese and creme fraiche, my husband had a salmon and avocado salad, and my daughter went with a crepe topped with Nutella. And yes, we are horrible vacation parents - she had dessert for lunch. It's vacation.
The service was excellent and so was the food.
I'm only holding back a star because our booth seat was covered with electrical tape (hole in the seat) and the space was very small and cramped. -

A nice cafe that seems more of a lunch spot than a good place for breakfast or late night enjoyment. Le Gevaudan seems smaller than the nearby St. Germain or Les Flores, and easily gets lost among the various shops on the street.
We stopped by one day when it was raining, and the waitress seemed surprised to see us. There were no other customers in the cafe, and by her reactions we honestly thought that they might not be open yet. The food was good but not outstanding when compared to other Parisian cafes. There is no free wifi here.
Not a bad place to get lunch, especially if you're staying nearby.
